At the New Orleans Film Connection, our externs learn about gaffers and grips, blocking and backlighting, and everything else that goes into making a film. Working one-on-one with a mentor within a professional production company, you’ll get hands-on experience on how to work with actors, cinematographers, producers, and other key players in the process. Become familiar with all phases of making a movie. Be in the room during pre-production meetings. Be on-location during the shoot. Be in the cutting room while a director and editor work to bring it all together. And be ready for long days and little sleep.
