Taught in one-on-one private sessions in a real recording studio or film school, students extern under the direct supervision of a film industry professional, or mentor. Students work on real-world projects and also go through a course curriculum. No experience is required and students can take classes part time during night or weekend sessions, training around a current job. The mentor faculty proactively teaches both professional and technical skills, which helps to bridge the gap between academia and the workplace.

“To see the Film Connection students come in here processing and doing stuff is the most rewarding thing. They’re actually doing things not reading a book, sitting in a classroom; they’re involved in all aspects of the studio, said program mentor, Donny Baker, also an engineer and producer. “Film school alternative students don’t just learn to record, they learn the studio business.”

Their teacher is a real film engineer, film producer, session player or film business professional that takes them through the structured course curriculum in his professional studio. No experience is required. Part time, nights and weekend courses are available, allowing students to train around a job.
